What resources are available to help you? How do you connect the dots between the crazy out-there sessions at MAKEiT and scalable supported classroom-ready technology?

The Metaverse

The Metaverse

TLT provides support for classes that wish to explore virtual worlds. This can take the form of holding class sessions, assigning tasks, exploring course-related material, or asking students to reflect on their experiences. TLT currently supports the use of the virtual worlds Rec Room and Spatial.

Aero Studios

Supported Augmented Reality (AR) technology takes the form of a fleet of TLT-operated iPads and the use of Adobe Aero. These iPads can be found in the Dreamery or the Pattee Library Media Commons or faculty at both University Park and the Commonwealth Campuses can borrow a class-scale collection of iPads for longer term projects to be distributed to students. Workshops are available to teach students the fundamentals of using Adobe Aero.

High-end 3D scanners are available through the Maker Commons. 3D scanning apps are also available on Media Commons iPads.

LEGO® Spike Robotics are supported with assignment ideas and workshops through the Maker Commons, along with several other types of rapid prototyping technology.

Aero Studios

Adobe Story Express

All Adobe Creative Cloud apps are available free to Penn State students, faculty, and staff. Several of these applications, including Express, Rush, InDesign, Premiere Pro, XD and more are supported for class assignments with workshops via the Media Commons.

Virtual Reality (VR) is available in the Immersive Experiences Lab through high-end VR-ready computers. VR is also available at class-scale through the use of the Immersive Headset Pilot – a collection of Meta Quest 2 headsets available in the Dreamery, Pattee Library Media Commons, and by request at the Commonwealth Campuses.
