Rapid Prototyping

1:00PM – 3:15PM
Room: 134

The Activity

This session will introduce participants to Design Thinking and the prototyping process. Participants will be given a prompt to which they must identify a particular audience and define the problem that they will try to solve. Rooted in the Design Thinking method, participants will conduct brief research and then use littleBits and Legos to invent a solution to the designated prompt. This activity focuses on iteration, prototyping, and collaboration.

What is it?

In an educational context, rapid prototyping is the practice of quickly building a technological solution to a specific challenge, testing the solution, and iterating upon the solution based on gathered feedback. Through the use of building materials like littleBits and Legos, participants will get a thorough introduction to the basics of solving a problem using Design Thinking principles.
