Learning Spaces

Building engaging environments

1:45PM – 3:45PM

Room: Boardroom 2, Nittany Lion Inn

What is it?

Physical spaces dedicated to teaching and learning deserve a high level of attention when it comes to design, structure, and technology. Aspects of learning spaces can be adjusted and tuned to enrich the learning experience and serve an array of teaching methods. The challenge is to reimagine these spaces to better serve the needs of faculty and students through technology and design.

The Activity

This activity will provide teams the tools to prototype their own controlled learning space driven by emerging technologies, design thinking, and their own teaching and learning experiences. Using basic materials and tools, teams will construct their proposed “learning space of the future” and share their thought process.

Our goal is to provide participants the opportunity to imagine and explore the possibilities of a 21st century learning space using traditional prototyping tools and techniques.
